1. Cancellation by Customer

We understand that plans can change. The following cancellation terms apply to all bookings:

2. Cancellation by Emerald Expeditions

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel a tour due to:

• Severe weather conditions making the expedition unsafe
• Minimum group size not being met
• Government travel restrictions or advisories
• Natural disasters or force majeure events

In these cases, you will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule to another date at no extra cost.

3. Rescheduling

You may reschedule your booking once, free of charge, if requested at least 14 days before your original departure date. Rescheduling within 14 days of departure is subject to availability and may incur a 15% rebooking fee.

4. No-Shows

Failure to arrive at the designated meeting point at the scheduled time without prior notice will be treated as a cancellation with no refund. Please contact us immediately if you are running late.

5. Partial Tour Completion

If you choose to leave a tour early for personal reasons, no refund will be provided for the unused portion. If we must cut short a tour due to safety concerns, we will provide a pro-rated refund or credit for the missed activities where possible.

Please include your booking confirmation number and the name under which the booking was made.

7. Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed within 7-14 business days using the same payment method used for the original booking. International bank transfers may take longer depending on your bank.

8. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and evacuation. This is mandatory for all multi-day expeditions (Ebbatop, Tafelberg, Lucie River).
